Turf on this practice mound is 0.5 inch polypropylene turf at 12 millimetres, a pile depth close enough to a groomed field surface that a pitcher gets realistic grip and release feel rather than the slick footing of a bare rubber slab. Antifade treatment keeps the surface colour and texture through repeated outdoor sessions, and the dense weave resists the flattening that turns cheap turf mats slippery within weeks. A one-piece build with a moulded pitching rubber puts the plate at the correct position every time, removing the guesswork of setting a loose rubber on bare ground. An Eva base underneath grips the ground and carries a 550 pound load rating, holding the mound still through a hard drive off the back leg. At 42 inches long and 19 pounds the mound carries out to a backyard, an indoor cage or a gym and lifts away afterwards. Brush the turf clean and store dry.
