Gliding motion is the point of this porch chair, whose front-to-back mechanism travels smoothly instead of the arcing tip of a traditional rocker, keeping feet flat and drinks level while the seat moves. The chair measures 24 by 29 by 37.5 inches with a 19 by 23 inch backrest, a 19.5 by 20 inch seat and an 18 inch seat height, proportions that support the neck and lower back through a morning coffee or an evening wind-down. Breathable fabric spans the seat and back so air moves rather than trapping heat, and the heavy-duty metal frame supports up to 330 lbs. Armrests are contoured for forearms rather than left as bare tubing. At 16.5 lbs the glider can be repositioned with one hand as shade shifts across a porch, a balcony, a garden path or a patio corner, and the powder-coated finish resists rust through repeated exposure to dew and rain.
