Included are texts with uncertain authorship, next to those that might be original Stolle, and texts by other poets. Die Edition bietet allerdings kein Autorenoeuvre, sondern ist dezidiert als Tonedition konzipiert. Die Frage nach der Authentizitat der einzelnen Tone in Bezug auf die Textautorschaft wird nicht gestellt. Die Lieder der Ausgabe verbindet ihre einheitliche metrisch-musikalische Struktur, kurz: der Ton. Enthalten sind Texte mit ungeklarter Verfasserschaft neben solchen, die eventuell von Stolle selbst stammen, und Sangspruche/Meisterlieder anderer Dichter. Dieses am Tonautor orientierte editorische Organisationsverfahren ermoglicht, Sangspruche und Meisterlieder gemeinsam zu edieren. Es wird fassbar, wie die Meisterlieddichter tradierte Vorgaben auffassen, verandern oder variieren.
