Life on the Astro II, one of the first asteroid ships to leave Earth for the stars, is governed by strict social rules and military protocol set in place to keep the spacebound colony safe during the long, isolated journey. But when Eric Duncan stepped onto the proposed colony planet for the first time, he knew that none of the rules and regulations would help him with the strangeness of an alien world. This new world, with its great dragons, trees that bleed alcohol; and deep oceans had one other surprise: more than one sentient race waiting to welcome, or destroy, the new human colony. The Starborn Odyssey trilogy tells the story of three generations of "Starborn"-those born on an asteroid converted into a large colony ship rocketing through the galaxy in search of a new home for human kind. It is written in the optimistic style of early science fiction, and while part of a trilogy, each story also stands alone.
