Chapter 1 A NEW BEGINNING "I can't imagine living way out in the country were the words that echoed in her mind as she enjoyed the beautiful drive. Her grandparents had lived in the country when she was a child and, although Aurora loved to visit, she always thought it was too far out of town. As she got older, she learned the value of family and wished to have a family homestead for her whole family. Aurora's life has been dedicated to her children for the past twenty years and they were growing into adults faster than she wanted. It was difficult to think about life after children so Aurora would dream about the future and enjoy every moment she had with them now, while they still lived at home. Aurora wanted them to enjoy her new home as much as she enjoyed her Grandma's property. Acreage; large enough for multiple houses, gardens and wide open space were on the top of her wish list. She wanted to find a property where she had the option of having chickens and horses; a lake or water would be an extra bonus. She will rent out the main house while she lives in the smaller house, after her children move away of course. This was the motivation behind taking a drive down a beautiful country road. Perhaps this was the property Aurora & Stephen were longing for. It reminded her of the drive to her own grandma's house. Aurora had driven this road a few times in the recent past when she visited the small, quaint, mountain town of Jordon. The drive is beautiful but long and Aurora realized how different it felt now that she was considering living out this far. "It's beautiful out here", Stephen said as he admired the countryside. The area had changed from the last time she had driven through. It was becoming popular, which brought in restaurants, wineries and custom homes. They never did find the house they were looking for so they made the best of the day and enjoyed checking out the sights. By the time they returned home, someone had made an offer on the property so it was no longer an option. "That's okay, everything happens for a reason. I had a great time today" said Aurora. Aurora & Stephen enjoyed the area so much that they decided to expand their home search on the internet to include some of the surrounding cities. This opened up more listings and another property caught their interest. By comparison to the one they couldn't find, this property was closer to town. Aurora was glad about that."
