Jack Stoner left his house, house Bloodstone many years ago, years before they fell. He had hoped that as the house fell those who knew him would fall with it leaving him alone to pursue his own life. However, his brother has sought him out, asking his protection and help in creating a weapon that will raise their house like a phoenix from the ashes of ruin. As much as Jack hates his brother he can't refuse his own blood, even if he thinks his brother is crazy, even if it means death will follow.
