Softly, As in a Morning Sunrise

This CD has a very interesting lineup of musicians: (sticking to bass clarinet throughout), pianist , bassist and drummer . was actually touring with the Quintet (of which and were a part) at the time, and apparently had passport problems, so subbed for him. The playing on these four lengthy standards, including a 23½-minute is fine, but unfortunately, the recording quality from this Munich, Germany concert is pretty bad, making much of this historic music...for completists. ~ Scott Yanow
