This is the story of Sgt. James Gillett of the Texas Rangers. He was assigned to patrol the Mexican border for outlaws and renegades in the 1880s. An interesting first-hand account of how rough the west really was. Sgt. Gillett finished his six years assignment on the Mexican border and then resigned from the Rangers.
