Simple Grace: God's Just Because

Today's typical understanding of the Scriptures goes something like this: The Old Testament is Law. The New Testament is grace. The distinction is clear and the separation is irrefutable. But is it so? Take a closer look. You may be surprised to find the theme of grace overarching all of God's workmanship. From His Spirit literally brooding over the formless depths of His handiwork ((Genesis 1:1-2) through the final glorious call of redemption when the Spirit and the bride say 'Come" (Revelation 22), grace is evident. It may not always be so easily seen. Sometimes it obscures itself in the mess and mire that is life. Other times it hides itself in strange places. Still at other times heaven's silence makes it seem as if grace has been stretched beyond its limits. But it's there. It's His story. It is who He is. Peter called Him, "The God of all grace." (1 Peter 5:10) Let's take a walk together through the pages of God's plan to redeem His beloved bride. Let's find something we may not be expecting. Grace in trials and tragedies. Let's look for it in the challenges and failures in life. Let's see how immeasurable and all-sufficient this grace is for you and me.
