Research indicates that wife abuse is evident in almost all the societies. Indian studies, analyzing the family violence, more particularly violence against women are not many. As the rate of incidence of wife abuse is continuously increasing in India, there is an urgent need for prevention and intervention of wife abuse. The formulation of effective and sustainable intervention strategies of violence against wives requires a comprehensive understanding of all dimensions of the problem.This volume systematically examines the correlates of wife abuse, the patterns of wife abuse and the coping mechanisms exist among abused women.
