Roy Blakeley, Pee-Wee Harris, Westy Martin, and several other members of the Bridgeboro First Troop of Boy Scouts are given an opportunity to help a young man named Blythe take down some buildings at the abandoned military camp near Bridgeboro. The money the boys earn will be used to spruce up their meeting house, an old rail car. The boys love helping "Blythey," until they see a poster which seems to implicate him in a murder. Find out what an old letter, a "Flanders banshee," a head injury, and Pee-wee Harris's firm belief in loyalty all have to do with solving the mystery of the Haunted Camp.
