Ripples of Trust

Michael Sullivan and Hu Jing grew up in different worlds. Michael loved America while Jing was loyal to China. Despite cultural challenges, their marriage was strong. Their different political views strengthened their respect for each other, and their respective circles of families and friends learned tolerance as well. When America and China engaged in war, Jing and Michael were forced to separate. Instead of accepting the horror gripping the world, Michael and Jing turned to those families and friends, appealing for compromise. Trust must start with two people. Trust, Michael and Jing hoped, could spread as rapidly as anger, returning combatants to reason. Heros are unlikely for heros they never plan to be. The hero like the coward is just like you and me. The choice for both is love or fear. The hero finds love; the coward's love disappears.
