Plus, textile remnants which would have ordinarily languished in a landfill are given a new life. This rug was constructed with a rag rug technique, which is an age-old method of transforming textiles into something new. Its weft is made of upcycled denim remnants left over from fashion industry production houses, and this is handwoven onto a cotton warp. Cotton is a vegetable fiber widely used across rug traditions because of its strength and longevity—it gets softer and more lovely with every wash.
