Restless Nels

"Go west young man and grow with the country" is a quote attributed to Horace Greely in 1883. Determined to see the world and have an exciting adventure, this quote inspired a restless young Norwegian to head west in 1878. His travels brought him to central Nebraska where he discovered a lush round shaped valley south of the Middle Loup River. The restless young man made this valley his home.
