The patent-pending design centers the strap on the tripod socket of the camera body, which helps prevent the strap from inadvertently twisting the plate when using a shoulder strap. When you want to remove the shoulder strap and mount directly to a tripod head, just press the release button on the Qd mount and you're ready to go.The plate is designed to fit a wide variety of camera bodies and is precision machined from a solid block of 6061-T6 aluminum.
