In the wake of the deadly demonic disease that has nearly wiped out the Bryxx in a matter of days, including his own mother, Devon comes up with a plan to stop the slaughter, but it means giving up his livelihood and freedom in doing so. He will have to leave his life behind and begin a new one in hiding, away from other immortals. Crysta, a strange immortal woman Devon met at random turns out to be the best thing that's happened to him in ages. She doesn't care what he is or what he's done, she just wants a companion and like him, she has nowhere to go.
