This book examines the impact of prudential regulations on bank solvency in the WAEMU zone, focusing on Senegalese banks. The authors present the Basel standards and their adaptation to the WAEMU, as well as the causes and consequences of the liquidity crisis in the zone. Prudential regulation contributes to banking stability, but must be accompanied by appropriate monetary measures to avoid liquidity tensions and support the real economy.
