Property Law

This handbook uses case law to illustrate the basic concepts, theories, policies, and rules of law in the core areas of property law, including the various forms of acquisition of property (first possession, capture, creation, find, gift), the boundaries of the right to exclude, the core concept of property rights, the division of property rights regarding property resources (co-ownership, martial property, easement and servitude law), the regulation of interpersonal property use disputes (nuisance law and trespass) and the role of the government in takings and zoning law.
