Archimedes was famous for his astronomy yet it is lost to us today. I have found his astronomy hiding in plain sight in the book of Genesis. On page 21 of this book you will find that the proper order of our solar systems planets are in the quaint story of Noah's Vineyard. On page 27 you will find the synodic and sidereal orbital period of the planet Saturn (Shem) around the Sun. On page 45 you will discover the synodic and sidereal orbital period of the Moon around the Earth. The sidereal period of 27.212 days is accurate to three decimal points which is amazing for 250 BC. Archimedes wrote a historical fiction that is full of numbers. He invented a god to tell the reader how to mathematically manipulate the numbers. For example, For example, in the book of numbers he said, "I will multiply thy seed", which instructs the reader to multiply. When you multiply the first tribe times the second tribe and take that answer and multiply it times the third tribe and so on through the twelve tribes you arrive at the number 10x10 to the 63rd power which is the number of grains of sand that Archimedes estimated would fill the universe. He wrote the Sand Reconer to illustrate his invention of the mathematical exponent without which modern astronomy and subatomic physics would be impossible. Genesis is without question the greatest book ever written, but it is about science and mathematics and not religion.
