Professor Grady and the Gravity Gun in Bloomington, MN

John Hardison has always wanted to write. Growing up with Star Trek, he has always had his head in the stars. As a professional, the author has had nothing to do with writing fiction, only technical documents and blogs. The idea of writing, of sitting down and putting thought to paper, had always been a task too daunting to overcome until he joined a local writer's club. There, he was encouraged to put pen to paper and began to write short stories. One of them, The Teddy Bear Dance, won a local competition with Bethesda Magazine, encouraging him to set his goals higher and complete his first novel. Inspired by his own daughter's character and arguments he had as a youth with an astronomer who believed gravity was a particle, not a force, Hardison has written Professor Grady and the Gravity Gun. The first in a series of books involving a teenage girl swept up by a time traveler from an alternate 19th century where debunked laws of physics are their hard reality. Hardison has an impressive collection of Star Trek memorabilia and is finishing a series of Star Trek short stories. He is also working on the second adventure for Melina and the professor as they slip over the speed of light and discover a universe very different from their own.
