Let me tell you a story about how my working on a farm will help skyrocket your devotion to Mary.
Back in my early teens, my younger brother and I used to help on a farm some of our relatives had.
While on the farm, I saw an old water well. My great grandmother and grandparents used to tell me about drawing water from the well.
Imagine how tiring it was to have to go out to a well, pump water by hand, and then lug the water back to the house.
Thankfully, today all you have to do is go to your faucet, turn it on, and water comes out.
This is a nice reminder of how there are two types of devotion to Mary.
You see, St. Louis de Montfort says most people practice their devotion to Mary as if they're drawing water from a well.
This book shows you how to practice your devotion to Mary like you're turning on a faucet.
I'll let St. Louis tell you about this devotion. He wrote...
"Predestinate soul, here is a secret the Most High has taught me, which I have not been able to find in any book, old or new. I confide it to you, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit" (
"The Secret of Mary"
, #1).
God's revealing it automatically makes this the gold standard of devotions to Mary.
There are countless books you could choose from to prepare for your consecration to Mary.
All of them can work, but that doesn't mean they're all created equally.
Here's what the Montfort Fathers said about this one...
"These meditations are the work of a Montfortian missionary, about whom we have said: "He loved the Most Blessed Virgin with the heart of a child; he spoke of her with the heart of his Blessed Father (St. Louis)."
And in the history of their religious order, they called Fr. Texier "a remarkable spiritual writer."
So you know you're getting accurate, reliable, and useful advice.
Blessed Pope Pius IX stated:
"God has committed to Mary the treasury of all good things, in order that everyone may know that through her are obtained every hope, every grace, and all salvation. For this is His will, that we obtain everything through Mary."
He also declared that St. Louis' devotion to Mary was the best and most acceptable form of devotion to Our Lady, which means this is the best way to help Our Lady carry out her mission of saving sinners.
Our Lady wants you to share in her compassion for sinners, and she asks for your help to save them.
To emphasize this, she showed the three shepherd children at Fatima a vision of hell, and told them...
"You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish throughout the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart."
And on Aug. 19, 1917, she told them, "Pray, pray a great deal, and make sacrifices for sinners, for many souls go to hell because they have no one to sacrifice and pray for them."
And so, there are souls who not only need you to practice devotion to her, but this specific devotion to her.
That's because St. Louis also emphasized that this devotion is "more glorious to God, more sanctifying to the soul, and more useful to the neighbor, than any other of the devotions to her" (True Devotion, #118).
The Bible tells us: "And those who lead many to justice shall be like the stars forever" (Dan. 12:3).
And...
"He must know that whoever causes a sinner to be converted from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins" (James 5:20).
Since it's God's will to save all souls through Mary, nothing will make you happier than helping her save souls.
