The present trend in pregnancy/childbirth preparation is to gather heaps of 'information' so you can use 'informed choice' and make a Birth Plan about what you 'want' and 'don't want'. Consider the importance of creating a Skills-based Birth Plan about what you and your partner will 'do'. Giving birth is the ultimate manifestation of 'action' but it's the verb ... 'to do' that is really the basis for the birthing experience/activity. Your birth providers want to know what you 'want/don't want' but you need to tell them and show them what you'll 'do' ... and 'do' those skills. Using birth and birth coaching skills really matters. It's about how you'll behave, act, manage, deal with, work with what is happening to you and around you during your baby's birth journey.
