Cost of producing broilers has continued to skyrocket thus contributing to a worrisome low animal protein consumption in most countries of the world. Heaps of rice husk have continued to grow up to environmental hazard level in most countries. This book "Potentials of Rice Husk Meal in Broiler Production" encapsulates a detailed work, aimed at possible ways to convert rice husk "waste" into a useful feed ingredient, in feeding finisher broilers. Three different degradation techniques were adopted to degrade rice husk: Bio-fermentation, 4%NaOH and 8%NaOH. The rice husk meal so degraded, were used to replace Brewer's Dried Grain in a finisher broiler diets at 0%, 33.33%, 66.67% and 100% inclusion levels respectively, on weight to weight basis. The finisher broilers fed the diets, were examined on performance, carcass and organ characteristics, hematological and serum biochemical characteristics, nutrient retention and finally, the cost benefit. The results obtained from this work were quite fascinating.
