Born in Vietnam, Van Hoang currently resides in Seattle, Washington where he explores the urban landscape around him through painting on found recycled materials such as brown paper bags and envelopes. Most recently, his practice has turned toward navigating contemporary identities through the expressive use of color and abstraction in portraiture.
