Rune Arcane, with the help of his mysterious teacher, Hunter Daire has managed to lead his three fellow captives out of a technologically advanced reality where people with ultrahuman abilities are held in chattel slavery to Mobile Bay in 1778 where the American Revolution is about to heat up. His goal is to establish a colony across the bay from the city, and fill it with other ultrahumans he plans on liberating from their home reality. His three friends however have plans all their own, and those plans include becoming Rune's harem. However, poor communication all around threatens to destroy the colony and the relationship they are trying to build before it can get off the ground. When one of the friends walks away in order to preserve their self-respect, the whole plan begins to fall apart. An attack by a local witch and her pack of werewolf-like creatures forces them back together as they make a deal with the mysterious Alternity Corps for resources for the colony. After the first raid on their home reality to liberate 40 winged women, their new colony has attracted the attention of Lt. Governor Durnford across the bay in Mobile. When a contact ship arrives and offloads over a hundred werewolves, Rune and his family pay a terribly high price for victory. WARNING: "Planting the Flag" contains explicit sexuality, the seduction of a big-brother figure, nudity, violence, killing in self-defense, attacks on private property, destruction of private property, a singularity bomb that destroys a paramilitary compound, multiple sexual partners, a complete disregard for the current politically correct vision of consent, violence, the abuse of sailors, werewolves, and time as well as the heroes taking the concept of a temporal prime directive and wiping their asses with it before tossing it in the fire.
