Callie has always dated older guys, and it's always ended in disaster. After her last relationship, Callie has traded love for focusing on her physical and mental health, and finding a job.
That is, until she meets Jacob who, after a one-night stand, confesses that he's going through a divorce. Vowing not to get involved with him, Callie finds herself repeatedly drawn to Jacob and more comfortable around him despite how much she wants to deny her feelings for him. Opening up about her past helps Jacob understand her feelings and fears, but he's willing to look beyond that and promises never to hurt her as her former partners did.
