Piso's Cohort

26 BC: Sextus Calpurnius Piso, newly married and appointed to the command of a cohort of the Praetorian Guard, finds himself back in Spain. As well as guarding the emperor Augustus and his right-hand man Agrippa, Piso and his men find themselves in the thick of the action against the Cantabri and Astures. When a friend is killed in action, Piso is blamed and sent back to Rome, where he encounters deadlier enemies: his friend's father; his own half-sister; and a conspiracy against the emperor.
