Come along for the time of your life, I promise you won't regret the ride. 1973 A snowy mountain pass. A herd of Caribou thunders across the tundra. The epic peak of Denali. Deborah “Debbie” Czeizler 24, a sheltered suburban secretary, drops her mouth open in wonder. She turns to her boyfriend Pat, a long haired hippie drummer, in the darkened movie theater at the Detroit Art Museum. His mouth is an “O” of awe as well. Driving home later in Debbie's sky blue Volkswagen Beetle, Debbie and Pat marvel over the images they've just seen as they wind through the streets of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. They kiss briefly as Debbie drops Pat off at his apartment... A week later, the sky-blue Volkswagen Beetle heads up the Alcan Highway towards the open wild spaces of Alaska...
