In the 'Eternal City' of Sts. Peter and Paul, practical information includes how to attend a Papal Audience, and the locations of many sites and public entrances. After a guide to the sites in and near to Assisi associated with St. Francis, the author also takes the opportunity to explore the lives and locations of three more Umbrian saints, St. Benedict, St. Rita and St. Valentine. Several other additions to a Rome itinerary are then explored: Loreto and the Holy House, San Giovanni Rotondo and the shrine of St. Pio, and the world-famous attractions of Florence, Venice, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast.The author has visited Italy with pilgrimage groups and as a traveller on many occasions.
