Working in collaboration with elite Spanish board-maker Pukas and Coruna surf brand Olatu, Pierpaolo Piccioli has designed his first-ever surfboard. While technically rigorous enough for serious waves, it’s also an objet d’art: finished in a satin-finish hyper-bright pink that channels the radical romance of Piccioli’s fashion vision. It comes inscribed with a poem by Portuguese writer Fernando Pessoa as a homage to the calm, introspective space Piccioli finds in the sea. Both sculptural and seaworthy, PPP’s board is both a vessel for the kinetic thrill of surfing and a meditation on the sea-borne sanctuary of stillness, beauty, and solitude.
