It's entirely too hard to explain...the feeling of losing another member of your already too small family. It comes quick and merciless like lightning, literally, and the lives of Thornton twins Matty and Jenna and their younger brother Kelly are altered for good. Left homeless and completely on their own, the three kids are forced to stick together no matter the circumstances, even if it means bending the law a little and having an unstable cop with a point to prove after them. Lucky for them, his wayward son Andy, looking for a life of music and freedom, sees the kids as a gateway to achieving this dream. Getting back at his father and helping the kids at the same time, Andy hides them away, but four people in the woods behind a beach with little resources can only survive so long, especially against the blood thirsty "cocky cop". When the guns come out and family ties are forgotten, the Thorntons risk losing everything they have left, even their lives.
