Few institutions of the Catholic Church underwent such serious changes between 1945 and the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) as the parish. It advanced to become the center of pastoral care, the cell of Catholic Action, and the primary church location. On the basis of sources seen for the first time, the study analyzes the local church transformations until the beginning of the seventies.
