Overcoming ME It has taken Seanne Wilson forty years to overcome the opinion of others. Her bout with low self-esteem and self-confidence began with the divorce of her father and mother at the age of ten. Looking for love in ALL the wrong places, Seanne began a downward spiral that hindered her academic, spiritual, personal, and social movement until she began therapy with a Nashville counselor. Due to her fear of success and her tendency to procrastinate and self-sabotage, she stunted her ability to move forward. As Seanne transitioned from elementary school to high school, her depression and anxiety worsened until she began acting out with
OCPD (Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder), which is a personality disorder that's characterized by extreme perfectionism,
order, and neatness. Seanne over-imposed strict standards on her outside environment with characteristics that included:
Finding it hard to express her feelings.
Difficulty in forming and maintaining close relationships with others.
Hardworking with an obsession for perfection that caused inefficiency.
Feeling righteous, indignant, and angry all of the time.
Social extremes - Wanting to connect with people and not know how to connect appropriately.
Experiencing anxiety that occurred along with depression. Seanne had no idea that there was something wrong with the way she processed and experienced life, and believed her experiences and behavior were the norm. She believed her way of thinking and processing life challenges was correct and everyone else was wrong. Today, her motivational presentations, forums, and seminars are engaging and transparent as a professional speaker and author with a healthy self-esteem and confidence. Her fear of success, procrastination, and self-sabotage overcome, Seanne desires to ensure that men and women everywhere seek prayer, counseling, coaching, and mentorship in order to "overcome" challenges.
