Grace is a mystery to herself. It’s 1924 and she’s starting out with no knowledge of her parents, no prospects, no protection. She thinks the worst is behind her at the Rescue Home, that the job at the orchard beside the Southern Ocean is her big chance. But the world she’s entering is a dangerous place.
