Old Red Number 1 was a racing dog back in 1912. He was horribly mistreated by his owner John Rotman, even though he won all of his races. Then, after a terrible accident that broke Red's leg, a group of young kids took him in and nursed him back to health. They made a bet with John Rotman that Old Red would beat any racing dog he has.
