"This debut collection of poems is unique, surprising, sexy-and wickedly funny." "Euclid was a man, a particularly clever man that I don't know much about. Euclid is credited with conceiving the geometry of straight lines and flat planes. Generally speaking, most geometry you've studied is likely to be Euclidean. George A. Armington was another very clever man. The most important thing I know about him is that he founded a company called The Euclid Crane and Hoist Co., which is primarily known for making really big earth-moving equipment. Generally speaking, any freeway you might drive on was built using dump trucks based on a design by Euclid Crane and Hoist. My Dad was a relatively clever man, who worked in steel manufacturing before I was born. Above the door in our workshop was a Polaroid picture of him as a young man posing quite candidly with his pants around his ankles next to another fellow and a giant rack of Euclid axles. That faded pic was not to be defiled or removed. About two years ago, I started trying to write a letter spelling out the validity of my fantasies. I refuse to admit that after all this time I've failed to get to the point, and see it as a glorious wall documenting some most excellent side quests, even if it never gets around to the Polaroids or Euclid axles." - from the Introduction
