Statistics released by the government itself show the unfaithfulness of the majority of women to the Islamic Republic's choice of forced dress. In 2017, the Parliamentary Research Center published a report showing that 60 to 70 percent of Iranian women are in the group of customary veils or "bad hijabs with a religious definition." 30 to 40% are in the group with hijab. In addition, the report acknowledges that only 13 percent of women wear the traditional hijab.
