What's the best way to coax two sheep into the back of a Volvo station wagon? That's the main question on photographer Sonny Littlefield's mind when she sets out to rescue her father's prized pets from a butcher's barn in Little Edge, Maine. In that same moment, an estate attorney's secrets are catching up with him, and Sonny finds him as he gasps his last words. A string of clues and a mounting death toll point to an unsolved murder that took place in the 1800s. For the second time in a matter of months, Sonny is pitted against a stone-cold killer, with a rival hot on his heels. Both men think she has something they want. Both will stop at nothing to get it.
