My brother, who was always the first to get away, kept his calm for once. I heard everyone arguing for a few minutes and the atmosphere seemed tense. My senses told me that something was wrong and prevented us from seeing clear. I could have said that an evil force had seized a few of us. I understood that we were far too close to our goal to drop everything in the water and return to our initial steps, as some had strongly advised. My sister, who had not heard me say a single word while the group was arguing, came closer to me . . . Melissa Joane Chatel was born in 1988 in Port-au-Prince. At age eighteen, she immigrated to Canada and joined her two younger sisters. Finding new hope, she wrote her first fantasy book: The Legend of the Sisters' Souls, followed by My Precious, the story of her life combined with a fictive and futuristic story. The Count of the Twentieth Century became her third book. The gift of writing with which she was born and which makes her proud gives her the hope of a better tomorrow.
