In a rare fit of candor the protagonist of My More than Sister says, "I'm Glinda Parfit, and my earliest memory is of killing my family. I don't worry about that as much as I used to." Glinda is a wry, funny painter who has lost her memory. She has terrifying flashbacks of violence and death. Her phone-in (perhaps imaginary) sister is on the other side of the world. And, when pressed, Glinda's an absolute wizard with computers. The police accuse her of killing her only friend. So does her crazy boss, whose husband propositions her. Glinda paints to forget. Or remember. Two mysteries emerge about her murdered friend: her fabulous collection of art, and her secret research into child pornography. As corpses multiply, the police close in with clues to Glinda's mysterious past. She is buoyed by her co-workers: Moises, her hot lover; Jason, a gay ex-cop; and Carolynne, an irritating control freak. Evidence against Glinda mounts and finally she is arrested for constructive murder (by then she is all for that). Her lover becomes a stranger; she turns to Jason, who helps her confront the bestiality that can spawn a killer. But her life is saved by the woman she believed was born to lose. ________________________________________ Margaret Raymond wrote her first story in a treehouse when she was eight years old and hasn't stopped writing yet.
