Dissociative identity disorder has wreaked havoc on Thomas's life. An electrical engineer in his late twenties, Thomas is also Henry, a seven-year-old boy with OCD and germaphobia; Chuck, a burned-out ex-military drill sergeant with a chip on his shoulder; Louis, a flamboyant gay man; and Eleanor, a southern spinster looking for love. Thomas's memory lapses are frequent and variable, but he never fathomed Sara would be the result.
Sara's father Chuck is one of Thomas's alters. When she's unceremoniously dropped into Thomas's arms, he resolves to give her the best, most stable life he can offer her.
