Erez Sabag began this project in the aftermath of September 11,2001, so these private moments are set against the backdrop of historical tragedy. The months following the attacks on the World Trade Center were a time of uncharacteristic vulnerability and openness for the city's denizens, and their willingness to let Sabag into their homes and hearts was a testament to everyone's need to connect to those who shared their grief.. Formally striking and varied, these images are sophisticated interpretations rather than straightforward documents.
