"Mrs. Betts' Backyard" relates the story of unusual events in a typical backyard. It begins early one morning with the sound of penguins eating her begonias and continues through the year as Mrs. Betts and Stanley realize their backyard has become anything but normal. Neither are really surprised when Stanley finds a dinosaur egg buried in the back flower bed and tries to hatch it.
