Mountain: A Cautionary Tale
is an alternative history set from 1936 to 1942. It's the story of a misguided man, his star-crossed family, and a colossal public works project gone terribly wrong. In response to a persistent regional drought and national economic depression, thousands of workers are recruited to erect an enormous artificial mountain range on the Colorado/Kansas border. When a wealthy recluse seizes control of the mountain and manipulates its construction to serve his own dark purposes, unlikely heroes rise up to spark a revolution.
