Montgomery, Alabama is an old city. Certainly older than most folks give it credit. There was a Montgomery before the Civil Rights movement, and a Montgomery before the Civil War. Underneath the urban sprawl, the memorials and Hank Williams...the older Montgomery is rarely seen or talked about.
