Fourteen-year-old Miya Skippingbird, known as Mega Miya, faces the typical struggles of middle school. Desperate for acceptance from the rodeo kids, she dreams of owning the perfect horse to im- press them. However, her hopes are shattered when she ends up with a fat, stubborn paint mare who shows no interest in racing. Feeling defeated, Miya is haunted by the fear of being mocked and rejected by her peers. She decides to give up on her dreams and leaves, vowing never to return. But as she grapples with the pain of disappointment and the cruelty of others, Miya must decide wheth- er to persevere despite the challenges.
