During three and a half years of incarceration, David Lee had written over seven hundred poems about the struggles, drama and lessons he had experienced from fights, loneliness, prison politics and just about everything that happens in the concrete underworld. David Lee hopes that by sharing his experiences others would be able to avoid making the same mistakes he had made, and realize that the "thug life is not at all the glorious life that media, music and influences make it out to be. Each poem was written under the influence of powerful emotions felt after a significant experience or event witnessed. It is an extraordinary chance to be able to truly experience the power and feelings that can only be felt after years of pain and isolation, without having to go through it yourself.
