The plurality of world views and values poses challenges to society, (educational) policy and religious communities in terms of education policy, pedagogy and theology. Using human rights education as an example, this publication discusses the fundamental question of how public religious education can be thought about so that it is not only justifiable for a religiously and ideologically plural society, but also beneficial to the society in order to achieve peace.
