Did you ever love someone so much that their loss rocks the core of your soul? I have. It was my beloved sister Candace Ann Syres. My sister was the closest person to my heart; as she would say, we shared a heart. Losing her after a long fight with cancer was a tremendous loss. It was also the first time in my life I truly grieved. This is the story of her heroic battle, as she faced multiple cancers during her life.Grief is a visceral emotional response to losing a piece of your heart. It impacts the very substance of your being; the emotional pain is so intense, it can manifest as physical pain. In order to express my hurt feelings and begin the process of healing, what came most naturally to me was writing down my thoughts. The immense grief I felt opened something inside me, and my heart poured out through these writings. This book is the byproduct of mourning the loss of my sister, and enduring the painful grief that accompanied such a colossal loss. It is also a way to record my memories of her magnificent life.
