A captain bed does two jobs at once, and this twin frame keeps both simple. Two drawers roll out from beneath the platform on flexible wheels, each with a 35 x 15 x 5 in interior and a 55 lb capacity, giving a child's room or a dorm somewhere to put sweaters, extra bedding, and books without adding a dresser. The frame is solid pine wood with reinforced screw connections and plywood slats joined by straps, so the platform supports up to 250 lbs and stays quiet as a sleeper moves. A raised edge runs around the mattress area to hold a standard 38 x 75 in twin mattress in place, and no box spring or foundation is needed to complete the setup. At 78.5 x 42 x 16 in the bed keeps a low profile, which lets it double as a daybed when pushed against a wall with a few cushions. Twelve inches of clearance beneath the frame leave room to sweep or run a vacuum. Finished in white, it suits a home bedroom, an apartment, a youth hotel, or a dorm room where storage matters as much as sleep..
